Lady Bébinn

Possessor of the major crest noa

Profile

Bébinn is the Archbishop of the Eastern Church of Seiros.

Personality

Bébinn is bit simpleminded. She can only focus on one task at a time, despite this she’s very tedious about her work and wishes to get it done before doing anything else.

She cannot sit down in one place for long — which causes concern for her knight and his squire. Often, she’ll be at the sea.

Bébinn loves to fish and the sea.

A “ motherly “ figure, though she swears not to have kids of her own. She has a tendency to baby those she cares deeply about, despite being the one who needs to be watched.

She is sweet and kind in nature. Though an airhead, she does her best to listen to the woes of others and offer advice.

A tad forgetful, at times she does not cover her ears. She uses the excuse that she was born this way, and that they will soon know the truth.

Background

Secretly, Bébinn is Noa, one of the original children of the progenitor god, Sothis and Seteth's wife. In the ancient past, she and the other Nabateans coexisted with the native Agarthans, sharing their knowledge with them, eventually leading Agartha to become an extremely advanced civilization. The Agarthans enacted various wars among themselves, eventually turning on Sothis and the other Nabateans, Bébinn and the others defeated them and drove them into hiding underground, leading them to become Those Who Slither in the Dark.

In return, Those Who Slither in the Dark convinced Nemesis to invade Zanado, the home of the Nabateans and where Sothis was sleeping after exhausting herself healing the land from war, in order to kill Sothis and massacre her children to make weapons and crests from their bodies.

Rhea called for Bébinn and the other saints to join her battle. The five, opposing Nemesis in the War of Heroes, eventually killing Nemesis in battle, leading to the creation of the Adrestian Empire and the extended influence of the Church of Seiros with her as its head. The church rewrote history, hiding the existence of the Nabateans, Agarthans, and the true origin of crests and relics, and revising the origins and allegiances of Nemesis and his crest-wielding allies, the Ten Elites.

Bébinn returned to her destroyed home, weeping over the death of her kin. The war caused great stress on her body, taking its toll as she fell into a deep sleep.

Though the other saints parted ways. Seteth stayed with her — both daughter and mother asleep. Flayn was the first to awaken, and around this time Rhea had summoned for Seteth. He was hesitant to leave her but promptly followed the woman’s orders. Flayn took care of her for a few years before she was called for the monastery too, Rhea decided to move her body to a hidden mausoleum and for a protective measure hired a mercenary by the name Johann to watch over her.

For days, months, and years she never woke up. Still, the man stayed vigil in his job. Though she was unconscious, she had dreams in which she heard the man sing and saw his face.

One day, a group of bandits found the mausoleum and decided to raid it. Johann does his best to protect her, killing those who dared to enter. A bandit slipped by and was prepared to kill the sleeping Bébinn, but Johann threw his body forward. Johann was stabbed in his abdomen; however he managed to kill the remaining person who threatened her life. It was then that Bébinn woke up. In a panic, she saves his life by giving him her blood.

Johann, having done his duty, reports to Rhea with Bébinn following him. Trauma causes her not recall much of her life besides childhood. Rhea explains carefully about the war and that it is her duty now to lead the people so that there is peace and control. Bébinn, though confused, agrees. She becomes the Archbishop of the Western Church of Seiros.

The Archbishop of the Eastern Church is known for her kindness and patience, and well loved. Compared to Rhea, she is more forgiving on the matter of religion — she is not one to execute others for their beliefs and believes in the distant past of where man and Nabateans could coexist peacefully. Ultimately she is not the smartest though, and cannot push policies on her own without the permission of the Center Church.
